Scott Wood: A Lifetime of Service and Commitment to Haverhill

Scott Wood a native of Haverhill, grew up in a family deeply rooted in public service. His father was a police officer, and his mother worked as an Educational Support Professional (ESP) in the Haverhill Public Schools. From an early age, Wood embraced the values of community engagement and giving back, influenced by his parents and his grandfather, Merton Howard, who dedicated 37 years to serving Haverhill as a police officer. Wood's education began in Haverhill, where he attended Fox School, Golden Hill School, Whittier Middle School, and graduated from Haverhill High School in 2001. Remarkably, just two years after high school, he made history by becoming the youngest elected official in the city's history when he was elected to the Haverhill School Committee in 2003.
